Go to the dog shows at state fairs or almost any agility competition for dogs and you will almost always see plenty of border collies. Their quickness and coordination allows them to master the skills and their intelligence helps them to learn the maneuvers that are involved. The ABCA (American Border Collie Association) is not very fond of border collies being used for these events, because their main goal is to preserve the herding instinct and working drive of the border collie. Nonetheless, the border collies’ natural talent and amazing mind are hard to be ignored when it comes to training dogs for agility competitions.
