September 2021 Puppies

September 2021 Puppies Showed Up in Numbers!

Fifteen pups altogether. Several of them were spoken for before they got out of their mama good. It has been a busy time from September the 5th, when the first six were born till now. Needless to say , it has also been a fun time.

It is an amazing thing to watch these young puppies find their way to mama’s nourishment without being able to see her, only smell and touch, and an unbelievable sense of being able to recognize her presence when she is near..

There has been a lot of begging for their mama to feed them, as they have taken their turn when they reached four weeks old to go through the process of weaning.

Now they get very excited when feeding time comes and they all rush around the large round almost flat milk tray. Not a one has escaped a milk bath on their nose or head in their mad dash to find their feeding location around the milk tray. Learning to eat the kibble in order to feel more full has also been an interesting experience.

Thankfully, I have had a lot of help from my wife, daughter, and grand-daughter in taking care of them, and taking time to socialize them to be comfortable with humans. My son Ryan, and Nancy were a great help at getting some good looking puppy pics. It has been an all out family affair.

The toughest days lay just around the corner. They have all been to the vet for their check ups and vaccinations. Now comes the time when we have to say goodbye, as they each take their turn at packing their doggie bags and heading out to new homes.

Fortunately, the busyness of the days spent taking care of and feeding them helps you from becoming too attached to any one of them in particular. They are all lovable and if allowed to hang around too long, we would have a very difficult time in parting ways with them as they go off on their own to new homes.

We are grateful to the people that take them in and provide a caring home where they will be loved. That makes the process more bearable and actually even enjoyable.

It is especially exciting to see the joy on their faces and in their eyes as they make the connection to their new owner.

We named them all, but many of those names will be changed to one that better suits each one.

Best of Luck to our Border Collie Puppies of September 2021!
